Long weekend on account of Australia Day !! :)

Started it off with an exhausting 3 hour early morning Bike ride in the blistering sun, and cooled off with an energy drink & a red slushie! Reminds me of back in highschool, riding around locally, with a slurpie in our hands, feeling free from my parents hehehe

Got back just after Annie came home, & spent the rest of the afternoon with her (actually she fell asleep while watching Duece Bigalow lol). She can so easily fall asleep nowadays. At the hospital she wakes up at 11am, brushes her teeth and eats breakfast, then falls asleep & wakes again around 3 in the afternoon, stays up till about 10 or 11 late, then sleeps like 12 hours haha

We headed off for a birthday dinner later, Nishan's Girlfriend's 20th @ Hurricanes in Bondi. They were late so we browsed a book store 'Zabriskie Booksellers' & i came out with 2 books by Anne Rice 'The Vampire Lestat' & 'Queen of the damned' i can't wait to start reading i think i'll read 'The Vampire Lestat' first

Dinner was average, i had the vegetarian burger, lentil patty with mushroom it was mushy :( I don't think i'll ever go back to hurricanes.

After dinner we headed into the city for the Minus 5 bar - this was the coolest experience ever!! (literally!!!) Its a bar in an industrial cool room, its minus 5 degrees, we get half an hour in there, there are ice sculptures and you get a cocktail in a cup made out of ice (which RIck ate when he was done drinking haha)

I got my typewriter wooo!!

Now.. how do i use it ... haha

10 reasons to use a typewriter

1. No automatic spell checking to interfere with your creativity.

I took this while cooking breakkie - two eggs fried sunny side up served with buttered toast YUM!

Did you know eggs aren't bad for you cholestorol wise? It's only if you already HAVE bad cholestorel, but if you are healthy, then you cant have too many eggs it won't do you any harm.

I love my eggs in this order:

fried sunny side up
poached (only when Rick does it, i can't seem to get them right when i try)
scrambled
soft boiled

I've never had an egg raw, GROSS!

I came home from work today, thought this would make a pretty photo :)

Monday is my work out day, i do flex (weights class) & then cardio (half an hour or more of running). I always feel soooo good after my workouts, i'm finally feeling back to my normal self again (pre xmas buldge lol)

My aim this year is to train for the City2Surf, and complete the run in under 100 minutes (last year i did it in 111 minutes)

Sunday 18th December 2009

Annie came home today, we had some family friends over, and two of her friends came past briefly to say hello.

She's due for the button operation this week (so food can go directly into her gut, since everytime she has chemo she loses ability to eat & swallow enough nutrients)

I did some quick shopping in the morning before she came home, managed to get

& dropped off my 2nd roll of fish eye film, need to pick that up in 2 days yay!

spent the rest of the day at home, jeremy came around with his hard drive (thanks for the movies!), had planned to make some rainbow cupcakes but didnt have time to! maybe next weekend hehe

ended the day with some tennis with Sambath, Julie & Jack- that was fun!! I should of brought along my nikon, the sky was a beautiful peach pink colour

rushed back to Rick's house to check on a bidding i made on this baby - & i won it! @ $81 (what was i thinking? i dont care i really wanted one, i dont even have space for it in my room!!)

One of Annie's Starlight wishes came true today, a cruise around Sydney harbour with the family, along with lunch!

Captain cook cruises, took us around the harbour for 2 hrs, & provided a seafood lunch buffet. i was so happy to be as a family, something which is hard to do otherwise, and Annie had a great time..

After the cruise ended we still had 1.5 hrs left before the taxi came, so we walked from the wharf to chinatown, where we browsed the shops, and bought some snacks.

I found a phone that i wanna get, its $550 outright, the NOKIA E71 (pic here) its so sexy!! I'll be getting it on my next pay ^.^

Me & Linda headed home first while Annie & mom & dad waited for a tAXI back to the hospital, i had to get my nikon looked at @ Parramatta, there was an annoying black dot in all of my foto's and i couldnt get rid of it (it ended up being a small flick of dust on the lens on the inside, it got blown out, no charge so yay)

I didnt' know shops closed at 5, i thought i had another half an hour to shop :( so back to the car, i lost my friggin ticket! Had to pay $20!!! even though i was only in westfields for less then an hour -_-

Anyway, bad luck, that should teach me to put my tickets in a safe place (and not inbetween my legs, making it fall onto the ground when i get out of the car!!)

I went home, got changed & went to pick up Rick for a run around Iron Cove (7km, which we did in 50 minutes!!)

While we were running, we watched the sun come down it was beautiful, but by the time we got back to the car there was no more opportunity for photos booo

We ended the night with Japanese dinner @ Sakae in the city, and a beer @ the red oak (there goes all the carbs we burned during the run ><)

I received a postcard from my friend Da Binh today, she's in Europe for 2 mths by herself (she left mid December). She spent NYE on the London Eye, & is heading to Amsterdam this weekend. I'm so happy she took time to send me something :)

I went to the gym after work today before visiting Annie, i did 7km in 1 hour (the last 15 minutes was at a walking pace because Jenny came along to chat with me)

She's a gym fanatic like me, i started running because i always saw her running at the gym, and she's got the tiniest toned body, & i want the same!!

Thursdays, Me & Rick's night together, & also the same night i spend with Annie each week. I ordered some thai for Annie tonight before coming in, she wanted to try out the place down the rd - food was absolutely crap! The most non authentic thai i've ever had -_-

Annie had quite abit to eat, a chicken wing, a curry puff, some noodles, & soup, it's like she hadnt eaten for so many months, now she's craving everything (its funny actually, cos on the same night she told me to bring in thai, and she also told my mom to bring in some other food lol)

Jenny & Fiona had come in earlier to visit Annie. & left this thank you card for me, photo's from Jenny's bday dinner last Friday night, i found this so sweet!

Instead of Tennis tonight, me Rick Anita Anne & Pete met up for dinner @ Bankstown sports club. The club has recently been upgraded, the italian eatery, looks like you're walking into a piece of Italy!!

Food was average, i liked the gnocchi :) & it was a cheap eat! $15 per person for two pasta's, 2 pizza's, wedges, & salad

We browsed the club afterwards, and saw this baby!! haha we all crammed inside for Rick to take a picture, we looked like tourists lol

We're coming back in 2 wks so Pete can pick up his membership card (any excuse'll do haha!)

Me & Rick skipped work today, drove up the coast to Port Stevens (Stephens??)

Weather was perfect! We snorkelled, had a seafood lunch, & played @ the beach. Walked up & down the sandy white fingal beach, and mucked arnd in the warm water, and then explored some rocks

I want to retire somewhere near the water! & i want a boat :)

After lunch, we browsed an aboriginal art centre, and i picked out a dozen hand painted blank greeting cards, no one was around to take our money (even after yelling out 'yoohooo' 10 times) so i left my money & a note saying

"no one was around, here is $12 for the 12 cards i took with me"

& then left.

3 hours later, 6 missed calls & an sms from the police about a lost wallet - RICK LEFT MY WALLET ON THE COUNTER OF THE ART CENTRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so lucky they turned it in!! money & cards still there, nothing was taken

Nonetheless, that didnt ruin our perfect day, our first date at the beach since summer started :)

Trang, Ants & Me, caught up for dinner tonight after i went to the gym (need to work out insanely, as been eating alot lately hehe)

We originally planned to eat at a thai place near our homes, but it was closed so we ate at a new thai place in canley heights instead. portion was large (i take awayed half of mine), and it was cheap too ($12 for a seafood pad thai)

I would go back :)

Anita lent me her holga!! Thanks babe, i cant wait to use it (i hope the film works)

Annie got to come home today & yesterday, both days her friends came around to see her, she was so happy to see everyone! Before i took this pic there were about 3 more people in the room haha they were all so squashed up, but were still having a good time chatting :)

Me & Rick played worms in the living room, Duy joined us so we all versed eachother, all hail QUEEN OF WORMS haha i'm so awesome! I beat both of them, with my skills =P

We all had pizza for dinner then Annie had a lil nap in her chair before the taxi came

Meet my Wiccan Friend Dante Casis, we were good mates in Highschool, & lost contact after we graduated. He found my sister on facebook, and then found me hehe

We caught up on.. 5 years of our life! Had coffee & breakfast, then i headed off to pick up Rick & we went to his work mate's house for a BBQ 

We spent the whole afternoon eating, playing with the kids, & just relaxing. His boss's were there, they are pretty funny they are like kids @ hearts, cracking jokes all the time.

We left at about 6 & headed to Parramatta for Malaysian, this place served authentic malay food! & it was nice & cheap too :)

Dinner was quick, on the way back home we stopped past Merrylands to take photo's of the graffitti while the sun was still out

It was Jenny (chic next to me) Birthday tonight, Dinner & Rambutan Thai restaurant in Darlinghurst. These three girls are all cousins, my family friends, & close friends. Jenny's 23rd Birthday, just a small group of us about 12 of us met up for dinner & drinks

I was upset that there was no PAD THAI on the menu lol/ The food was quite dissapointing, it took ages for the food to come out. We ordered at 8, and the food came out at around 9.15..!! We were all starving...!! BUt one thing that was impressive was this cocktail that was in a real coconut ball thing haha it was like drinking coconut suntan oil lol

Afterwards i met up with Ric, Ants & Mo for a night time shoot @ Milsons point, you can view the pics here, im really happy with how they turned out !! :)

Annie is such a sweetie! She remembered that i was wanting some of the stickers at the chemist in the main foyer, but it was always closed at the times that i came in, so she went & bought me some during the day!!!

I was so touched by her kindness, I LOVE YOU ANNIE!!

Not sure if i've mentioned this yet, but Annie is starting to eat again, so tonight i made her mi goreng, and my cousins came in they made her scrambled eggs, and sugar pastry twists! (note, they are 7 & 11 yrs of age..!!)

I'm really happy to see her enjoying eating again

Our first tennis session for 2009! Me, Rick & Pete battled it out on the courts tonight, i think Pete won hehe. We played for about 2.5 hours,, & luckily it started to rain AFTER we left to go home

Tennis is so fun! I will never be able to serve properly its so hard!!

I bought some weetbix & honey on the weekend, i need to start eating healthy again i gained a kilo over the break :( 

Brandon told me to try instead of honey use condensed milk, sounds yum!

Anyway i tried it with cold milk instead of hot milk today- ITS SO MUCH NICER!! The weetbix stayed crunchy, instead of soggy with the hot  milk

Give it a try if any of you guys are weetbix eaters: HOney drizzled over your weetbix :)

This is Annie's meds - about 8 pills crushed up to a fine powder, that we mix with icecream for Annie to eat. I brought in some Chocolate & Vanilla swirl for her  - she was getting sick of hospital vanilla icecream haha :)

Just like old times - we used to have dinner every weeknight together, it was a MUST for my dad. This is the first time we've been able to do that since June last year

ANnie's been home both days this weekend, we missed having her at home so much

Annie came home again, she's been feeling alot better lately!

Lucy came over, they were giggling and chatting away, it makes me happy to see Annie happy :)

Me & Rick played 'Worms' on the bigscreen Tv, haha that was a fun game i wana play it again! Its like war of the worms, each team has a number of worms and you take turns attacking its really cute there's like missiles, sheep bombs, ninja rope, some pretty cool things, Rick beat me grrr

I started work again today - IT WAS GREAT HAVING TIME OFF!! WIsh i had more holidays hehe, but last year i didnt get any so i should be thankful :)

Rick had the day off he came to take me to lunch! We didn't want to have foodcourt junk @ Stocklands so we went to Canley Heights for Some viet food

I prefer Viet food over chinese, its just more fresh & healthier (well it seems healthier hehe). I had this vermicelli with seafood spring rolls, underneath there is beansprouts lettuce and asian herbs & pickled carrots, and you drench it with fish sauce - so yum!

Richard had the same but instead of seafood spring rolls, he had prawn meat on sugar cane sticks, this was nice too but mine was better :)

I finished work early so i picked Rick up & we went to Auburn fitness first for a work out, i did some running while he did some weight training, then we did bodypump together, that was fun! But i love my gym so much more this gym was abit ... i dunoo i just didnt find the atmosphere as fun as mine~

Afterwards, we shouldnt have, but we went to pig out at Korean BBQ @ Strathfield lol. Ordering two entrees & a main, not realising that the entree was equivalent to a main!!! we doggy bagged like more then half of everything >_<>

Thursday 1st January 2009 (not 2008 hehe)

Annie got a gate pass to go home today! Her friend Duy came around to chat & hang out, we just bummed in her room listening to her music, going through her stuff lol

She's lost most her eye lashes now (aswell as her eyebrows) so her eyes keep watering when little particles dust or something in the air go into her eye cos there's no lashes protecting her (hence the tissue box on her lap)

She enjoyed her time at home, by the time she got back to the hospital at night she went straight to bed and had a good nights rest

Thanks Duy for coming to chill with Annie, even though you only got a couple hours sleep the night before!

I had some friends over to celebrate New Years with us, Danny & his girl Tash, Anne & Rick came over and we watched 'Clerks 2' & 'Pineapple Express'. & we watched the fireworks on the telly, & drove around Abbotsbury looking for Xmas lights - quite dissapointed , not many houses put up much..! Where's the xmas spirit?? hehe

Annie apparently tried to stay awake for the midnight fireworks on tv, but she was too tired and slept all the way through it! Five Million dollars on this yrs fireworks - its the same every year! Next year i wanna take my camera out & do some photshoot :)
